13-01-2013 12:00 AM

Ammon News - CAIRO (Petra) Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh on Sunday met with his Egyptian counterpart, Mohammad Kamel Amr, and discussed with him bilateral ties and efforts to establish the two-state solution as well as "put the Palestinian house in order".

They also discussed issues on the agenda of an extraordinary Arab foreign ministers meeting which opened today at the Arab League premises in Cairo to explore ways to support Syrian refugees in Jordan, Lebanon, and Iraq.

The meeting will tackle the current financial crunch the Palestinian Authority is going through. The ministers will also discuss reasons of postponing an international conference on nuke-free Middle East indefinitely after it was scheduled to take place last month in Helsinki.

Judeh on Sunday also met with Secretary-General Nabil al-Arabi and discussed with him Middle East issues, namely Syria and peace efforts.

Judeh highlighted burdens borne by Jordan due to hosting hundreds of thousands of Syrians and providing them with services, stressing the need for concerted efforts to support the Kingdom in this regard.

Al-Arabi announced a donation of $650,000 from the league's social affairs council to Jordan's relief efforts to the refugees.
