69 candidates withdraw from parliament races

Ammon News - AMMAN (Petra)--Fifteen candidates who registered to compete in the January 23 parliamentary elections have withdrawn from the race, according to Media Spokesperson of the Independent Elections Commission (IEC) Hussein Bani Hani.

Among the 15 candidates are 6 from the Central Badia, Ajloun, Karak and Jerash and 9 from the general lists.

"The total number of have withdrawn from the race stood at 69 including 44 from local districts and 25 from the general lists, the spokesperson added.

Meanwhile, Bani Hani said tomorrow will be the last day for receiving applications of local and international observers willing to observe the upcoming polls.
