Southern residents told Ammon News that Shobak city is witnessing moderate heavy snow fall, but substantial snow levels are accumulating in elevated areas of Wadi Musa and the city of Petra. Local government and civil defense department cadres worked to remove snow accumulation to re-open the state highway, amid bad weather conditions affecting the kingdom as a result of a polar cold front.

Snow fall blocks main southern highway to Petra

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Heavy snow fall in the southern part of the kingdom on Monday blocked the main highway from Shobak governorate to the tourist city of Petra.

Southern residents told Ammon News that Shobak city is witnessing moderate heavy snow fall, but substantial snow levels are accumulating in elevated areas of Wadi Musa and the city of Petra.

Local government and civil defense department cadres worked to remove snow accumulation to re-open the state highway, amid bad weather conditions affecting the kingdom as a result of a polar cold front.
