Jordan, Saudi Arabia discuss cooperation in constructions sector

Ammon News - AMMAN (Petra) Jordan and Saudi Arabia discussed Wednesday means to address challenges facing the entry of the Jordanian construction contractors into the Saudi market.

Minister of Public Works Yahia Al Kasbi and President of Jordan Construction Contractors Association Ahmed Tarawneh discussed turning down barriers facing Jordanian contractors with Saudi Minister of Housing Shuwaish bin Saud Al Dowaihi and his accompanying delegation.

Today's meeting, Tarawneh said, is a follow up on a previous one that was organized in Saudi Arabia few months ago, adding that six Jordanian construction companies addressed the Saudi authorities for approval to operate in the Saudi market and are still waiting for the response.

Tarawneh called on the Saudi minister to support the registration of Jordanian contractors to operate in Saudi Arabia, thanks for their expertise and potentials.

The visiting minister said that scopes of cooperation with Jordan with regard to the constructions sector will be open in the future.
