Ammon News - Amman, (Petra)--Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour said measures and decisions taken by the government should take into consideration the interests of the public and civil sectors to ensure their development and prosperity.
At a meeting with president and board members of the Amman Chamber of Commerce as well as the trade sector, Ensour said the meeting is part of consultations on the economic march and mechanisms to put it on the right track.
Such meetings, he added, aim at addressing problems and challenges facing the private sector and finding solutions for them.
During the meeting, which was attended by a number of ministers and officials, the prime minister said the economic reform program and decision related to it were necessary but no enough, noting that there are other measures that must be taken to put the march back on its proper track.
On the 2013 budget, he said it will focus on net revenues and cutting expenditure, noting that expenditure will be less and revenues more to address the budget deficit.
Ensour hailed meetings of the Joint Jordanian-Egyptian Higher Committee which met in Amman on Thursday and said they resulted in the implementation of the gas agreements signed between the two countries.
He said the ministers of energy and mineral resources, transport, industry and trade and agriculture will visit Iraq on Tuesday to discuss scopes of cooperation and opening the Iraqi marker for Jordanian agricultural products.
