Jordan to facilitate EU mission observing forthcoming elections

Ammon News - Amman, (Petra) - The Jordanian government and the European Union on Sunday inked a memorandum of understanding for the purpose of providing the necessary facilities for an EU mission that will monitor the upcoming parliamentary elections at an invitation by the Independent Elections Commission.

Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh and EU Ambassador in Amman Joanna Wronecka signed the memorandum.

The Independent Commission for Election has signed with the European Union a memorandum of understanding to organize the work of the mission, which will include 60 to 80 international observers who will monitor registration of candidates and polling and counting.

It will prepare a report that includes the output of the monitoring process and proposals and recommendations for future development.
