King patronizes graduation of military officers

Ammon News - Amman, (Petra) His Majesty King Abdullah II, the supreme commander of the armed forces, on Wednesday led a ceremony for the graduation of the eighth batch of male and female officers at the Royal Military College.

The King was welcomed by Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. Mishaal Al Zabin, and the college's commander, Brig. Gen. Mohammad Smadi, as he arrived for the ceremony, which included a parade by the graduating officers.

Noting that the college is one of the Kingdom's oldest military institutes, Smadi reviewed its role in qualifying and rehabilitating students militarily, physically and intellectually to become the leaders of the future.

"Over a full year, we have done all we could to prepare those elite soldiers who have been rehabilitated and their leadership and intellectual talents developed through the assigned academic and training courses," he said, The supreme commander presented prizes to outstanding graduates towards the end of the ceremony, which was attended by HRH Prince Faisal Ibn Al Hussein and Prime Minister, Defence Minister Abdullah Ensour as well as senior officers and heads of security departments and foreign military attaches.

The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff presented diplomas to the graduates and wished them success in the various military units they will join.
