Q – Tell us a bit more about the American Education Expo in Jordan, what is the goal of US Universities to be in Jordan?
A – ISN is holding one of the biggest US University Exhibition/American Education Scholarship events in Amman. We have brought a group of top Universities and Colleges from the US who are looking to have more Jordanian students at their campus to increase diversity. The event is a great opportunity to meet face to face with admission officers from top Universities. The Expo includes a scholarship event; some universities will be offering scholarships to qualified students. These scholarships are merit based, therefore we encourage students to bring multiple copies of their report cards, transcripts, and TOEFL scores to the Expo to determine their eligibility. The scholarships are ranging from $10,000 to full tuition ($40,000). We want to extend these opportunities to the students here in Amman.
Q – How will these Universities benefit from having these students come and study at their campuses?
A – These universities and colleges are aiming at recruiting more Jordanian students to increase campus diversity and cultural exchange between the students on campus, professors and new students.
Q – What types of programs and degrees are these Universities offering?
A – The participating institutions are offering Undergraduate, Graduate, MBA, etc. All of these schools offer a wide range and variety of majors to choose from such as engineering, fashion design, business, accounting, management, science, and IT programs. The top universities include Drexel University, Illinois Institute of Technology, Pace University, Portland State University, Moore College of Art and Design, which is an all girls school, and many others.
Q – Why do you think students will choose to study in America when there are many opportunities now to also study in different countries around the world? What makes the US education desirable?
A - America is still the number one destination for college-bound foreign students. U.S. colleges and universities are known globally for the quality of their facilities, resources, and faculty. Displaying a long-established dedication to the development of individual knowledge and expertise American universities and colleges hold themselves to the highest standards, and strict governmental accreditation systems ensure the preservation of these traditional values. This kind of commitment to quality and detail is hard to find.
