Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - A grand celebration was held for the Miss Lebanon 2011 beauty pageant in the open air in the heart of Beirut earlier this week. Lebanese contestant Yara Mikhail was crowned Miss Lebanon 2011 during the event that featured prominent Lebanese superstar Ragheb Alamah.

Ragheb made three appearances during the event and sang a collection of his most popular hits. The Lebanese Minister of Tourism along with a number of VIP political and social figures attended the event that was hosted by Tareq Muneer.

The competition featured 16 contestants out of which Yara won first place, Rahaf Abd Allah as first runner up and Sonya Gabriel as second runner up. Along with the crown, Yara won a number of very valuable prizes including 70 million Lebanese Liras, a diamond set and a brand new car.

Yara is now scheduled to take part in the Miss Universe 2011 beauty pageant, scheduled to be held in Brazil.
