Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Ernst & Young today announced the launch of the Entrepreneur Of The Year 2010 awards in Jordan. The program celebrates people who build and lead successful, growing and dynamic businesses. The event is held in 135 cities across 50 countries and has been running for 23 years globally.

Mr. Bishr Baker, Managing Partner of Ernst & Young Jordan, said, “The award seeks to honour entrepreneurs whose ingenuity and perseverance have created and sustained successful, growing business ventures. We firmly believe that the award makes a sizeable difference by encouraging entrepreneurial activity and recognizes the contribution of people who inspire others with their vision, leadership and achievement.”

Jordan’s Entrepreneur Of The Year trophy will be awarded this spring to the leader of a company that has been operating for over two years and whose business is starting to make a real impact in its industry. The winner will represent Jordan at the World Entrepreneur Of The Year event in Monte Carlo in June 2011.

To be eligible for consideration, nominees must either be business owners and managers who are primarily responsible for the recent performance of a privately held business that is at least two years old, or who are founder shareholders of a listed company and still active in senior management or own a 51% stake in the company. Awards are given to entrepreneurs who have demonstrated excellence and extraordinary success in areas such as innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities.

Self-nominations are encouraged and are free of charge. Application forms can be obtained by sending an e-mail request to JordanEOY.2010@jo.ey.com. Completed applications must be submitted by 20th March.
