Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Israeli Tourism Minister Stas Mesezhnikov called Israelis to boycott Turkey, citing that the boycott is for Israeli 'national honor' and urged Israelis to stop traveling to Turkey for vacation following reports that Turkey classified Israel as a 'strategical threat,' Israeli media reported on Sunday.
The Israeli Minister's statements came after Turkish media reported on Saturday that the Turkish National Security Council approved significant changes in a document which contains threats against Turkey claiming that Israel is now a major threat to the country.
Israeli newspapers indicated the document stated that Israel's actions may cause countries in the region to begin an "arms race."
The Council document decided to remove Iran- which was previously a major threat to Ankara- ,Syria, Bulgaria, Georgia and Armenia from the list of countries that pose a threat to Turkey, Haaretz reported.
Relations between the two countries hit a new low last May after Israeli commandos killed nine Turkish peace activists on board the flotilla that attempted to breach Israel's naval blockade of the Gaza Strip.
