Ammon News - The Ministry of Labor has issued a decision to suspend the recruitment of non-Jordanian workers across all sectors and economic activities, based on agreements aimed at increasing employment opportunities for Jordanians and enhancing local workforce participation.
According to the decision, the suspension applies to all economic sectors except for the following:
-Domestic workers sector.
-Garment and textile manufacturing, as well as industries producing complementary inputs for the sector, registered in development zones with the Ministry of Investment, Qualified Industrial Zones (QIZs), or free zones.
-Occupations requiring specialized skills.
The ministry confirmed that recruitment approvals granted before the issuance of the decision will continue to be processed in accordance with existing laws and regulations.
The move is part of the Ministry of Labor's efforts to regulate the labor market and promote the employment of Jordanians across various sectors, in line with national policies aimed at reducing unemployment and increasing job opportunities for citizens.
The decision was signed by Minister of Labor Khaled Al-Bakkar and takes effect immediately from the date of issuance.
