Ammon News - The Jerusalem Post reported that the incident that occurred on the Jordanian side of the King Hussein Bridge (Karamah Crossing) on Thursday demonstrates the growing concern among Israeli officials regarding threats emanating from Jordan in recent years.
In an analytical report, the Jerusalem Post noted that an armed individual entering the crossing area—a serious problem in itself—is similar to the shooting incident that occurred last September, in which three Israeli security personnel were killed, which may indicate that Israel's fears of escalating threats from Jordan are becoming a reality.
Threats along the border with Jordan have become more serious, prompting the Israeli occupation forces to establish the 96th Brigade, tasked with border security, which began operations last June, in addition to the 47th Battalion, a mixed combat unit that patrols the Jordan Valley, the report added.
In general, Jerusalem Post pointed out that Israel is increasingly concerned about the situation on the border following the events of October 7. Therefore, the Israeli occupation forces is taking proactive measures to counter these threats.
The report concluded by noting that the precise nature and extent of the threats from Jordan remain unclear at this time.
