Ammon News - The Kingdom will remain gripped by a blistering heatwave on Thursday, with scorching conditions prevailing nationwide.

Skies will see patches of medium and high-altitude clouds, particularly over the south, while moderate northwesterly winds will occasionally pick up, stirring dust, especially across the Badia.

The Jordan Meteorological Department warns of the extreme dangers of direct sun exposure during peak hours, reduced visibility due to blowing dust in desert regions, and occasional near-whiteout conditions on outer highways. Residents are also urged never to leave children in sealed vehicles, even briefly, and to avoid discarding cigarette butts or campfire remnants in forested areas.

Flammable materials should not be stored in vehicles, and water intake should be increased.

On Friday, the heatwave’s grip will ease slightly, bringing a modest dip in temperatures. The weather will remain hot overall, with northwesterly winds occasionally whipping up dust, particularly in the Badia.

By Saturday, the heatwave will retreat entirely, with temperatures returning to seasonal norms. Expect pleasant summer conditions over highlands and plains, and relatively hot weather in the Badia, Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Aqaba. Winds will stay northwesterly and moderate, picking up at intervals.

On Sunday, another slight temperature drop is in store, with much of the country enjoying typical summer weather. The Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Aqaba will see hot conditions, while some low clouds may drift across the skies. Winds will remain northwesterly and moderate, becoming brisk at times.
