Ammon News - Jordan and Egypt signed on Tuesday 9 agreements and memoranda of understanding, to enhance bilateral cooperation in various fields, at the conclusion of the meetings of the Jordanian-Egyptian Joint Higher Committee.
The two countries agreed on the need to enhance joint cooperation in the fields of energy, electrical interconnection, investment, industry, tourism, transportation, transit, and other areas.
Prime Minister Dr. Jafar Hassan and Egyptian Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly stressed the need to intensify efforts to end Israel's brutal war on the Gaza Strip, ensure the delivery of humanitarian supplies, and reject the policy of starvation in Gaza and provocative measures in the West Bank and Jerusalem.
Jordanian-Egyptian relations enjoy the attention and care of His Majesty King Abdullah II and President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, and their determination to open broader horizons to enhance common interests, based on the history and close fraternal relations that unite them, Prime Minister Hassan said.
Hassan also stressed that Jordanian-Egyptian relations are a model to be emulated for Arab relations, and that the regular meetings of the Joint Higher Committee of the two countries since 1985 have contributed to strengthening these relations in various fields.
Trade figures between the two countries are constantly increasing, which is a positive indicator, and we seek to enhance it, Hassan added.
For his part, Egypt's Prime Minister said that the close relationship between His Majesty King Abdullah II and President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi is reflected in the extent of joint cooperation between the two governments and the fraternal relations between the two brotherly peoples.
Madbouly stressed that Jordan and Egypt are working to remove all obstacles that could limit increased economic cooperation between the two countries in all fields.
"Cooperation between Jordan and Egypt in the fields of energy, gas supplies, and electrical interconnection is an exemplary model, and we seek to enhance it," Madbouly stated.
