Ammon News - Moderate summer weather is prevailing across much of the country on Tuesday, with hotter conditions confined to the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and the city of Aqaba.

Scattered low-altitude clouds are expected in the northern and central regions, while northwesterly winds will blow at a moderate speed, occasionally picking up in strength.

According to the Jordan Meteorological Department, temperatures are forecast to rise slightly on Wednesday. The weather will turn relatively hot in most areas and remain distinctly hot in the desert, valley, and coastal regions. Winds will maintain a moderate northwesterly flow.

A more pronounced shift in weather is anticipated on Thursday as a hot air mass originating from southern Iraq and the Arabian Peninsula moves toward the region. This will lead to a noticeable increase in temperatures, pushing them 3 to 4 degrees Celsius above seasonal averages. The weather will become broadly hot, with moderate northeasterly to northwesterly winds that may stir up dust, particularly in desert zones.

Today’s temperatures reflect the range of conditions across the country. Eastern Amman is experiencing highs of 32 C and lows of 20 C, while the western part of the capital sees slightly cooler figures at 30 C and 18 C, respectively.

In the northern highlands and Sharah highlands, temperatures are peaking at 28 C with nighttime lows between 16 C and 17 C. The desert areas are notably hotter, reaching 38 C during the day and 22 C at night.

Plains regions are seeing highs of 33 C and lows of 21 C. In the Jordan Valley, daytime temperatures climb to 39 C in the north and 40 C in the south, with corresponding lows of 25 C and 29 C.
