Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Minister of Health, Dr. Sa'ad Jaber, announced that an all-time 1776 new Covid-19 cases, including 1765 local infections, are recorded in the Kingdom.
Speaking during a joint press conference at the Prime Ministry on Wednesday, he said 745 cases were recorded in Amman, 43 in Karak, 67 in Balqa, 740 in Zarqa, 78 in Ma'an, 19 in Ajloun, 40 in Madaba, 1 in Mafraq, 3 in Jerash, 23 in Irbid, 5 in Aqaba, and 1 in Tafila.
Meanwhile, 11 imported infections were recorded involving truck drivers coming through the border crossings, he noted.
Moreover, 4 additional virus-related fatalities were recorded today, bringing the death toll to 61 since the start of the pandemic, he added.
Jaber also said 130 patients have recovered, while 1158 cases remain under treatment.
Also on Wednesday, the epidemiological investigation teams have administered 16,621 tests, he noted.
Despite the infections uptick, some people still question disease's existence, he said, calling on citizens to stay away from gatherings, that violate health instructions, and abide by physical distancing, wearing face masks and using sterilizers.
