Kingdom records 431 COVID-19 infections, two fatalities

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The Kingdom recorded 431 COVID-19 infections on Sunday, pushing the caseload to 8,492, according to a statement issued by Prime Ministry the Ministry of Health (MoH).
Amman saw the highest number of infections with 281 cases, followed by Balqa with 50 cases; 24 cases were recorded in Zarqa, 23 in Ajloun, 16 in Jerash, 12 in Maan, 11 in Irbid, 7 in Karak and 1 in Mafraq, in addition, 6 non-domestic cases were recorded for people who had been staying in quarantine hotels, the statement read.
COVID-19, a lung disease caused by the coronavirus, killed 2 within the last 24 hours as the tally hit 45, the statement added.
On the government's effort to stem the spread of the virus, the Ministry said that 15,384 tests were conducted across the country today as the tally surpasses 1,170,890, highlighting that 91 people recovered within the last 24 hours.
Amid an increasing number of domestic cases, the MoH urged people to abide by defense orders (11) and (16) and to commit to safety measures and social distancing, warning against holding gatherings of more than 20 persons. It also highlighted the importance of downloading and using the "Aman" and "Sehtak" applications.
