Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission (CARC) has informed international airlines that Jordan's airports will reopen on the 5th of next month and accordingly could begin operating flights to the Kingdom, announced its Chief Commissioner/CEO , Haitham Misto.

In a press statement made to "Petra" on Sunday, he said Jordanians can depart the Kingdom to all countries with no travel restrictions in place, however the conditions set by the Ministry of Health will be applied upon their return.

The CARC is testing readiness of the three Jordanian airports and domestic airlines to operate international flights, which will be resumed as of 5th August to about 22 countries, labeled by the Ministry of Health, as "low risk" nations, he noted.

Misto added:" The list of green countries is changing and is updated every 14 days according to their respective epidemiological situation," noting the lack of "firm and consistent" global standards to classify countries according to the "green, yellow and red" categories, according to Misto.

Resumption of the local airlines's overseas flights depends on their desire to operate internationally, which relies on demand, he said.

Countries set entry requirements respectively, and each chooses the appropriate strategy to resume flights, he noted, adding there is no way to prevent the risk of the Covid-19 pandemic, and the measures taken in the aviation sector only reduce the virus repercussions, according to Misto.
