Health Minister: 4 new cases of coronavirus reported in Jordan.

AMMONNEWS - Health Minister, Dr. Saad Jaber, said 4 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) were reported in the Kingdom, bringing the total number of infections to 349.

In a press briefing at the National Center for Security and Crisis Management held Monday evening, Jaber announced that COVID-19 death toll has risen to 6 after registering a new death case, whereas 16 infected patients in the Prince Hamzah Hospital has recovered, bringing the total number of recovered cases in the Kingdom to 126, while 217 cases are still in hospitals.

According to Dr. Jaber, details the four new cases were as follows: a case that was in contact with his wife and daughter who came from Italy in February, a case that was in contact with her fiancé, who was infected due to contacting an infected Lebanese national, a girl that was in contact with one an infected case, as her contacts are now being isolated, in addition to a death case recorded in a private hospital, as a sample from the deceased were taken and it was positive.

The Health Minister recalled an advise by Amr ibn al-As, a companion of the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), 1400 years ago, when he called on people to keep distance form each other in the time of the plague, and by doing so, they managed to eliminate the epidemic.

He called on the citizens to stay in their homes, and away from each other if they went out to purchase basic needs and materials, stressing that entire families are being infected as a result of some peoples' recklessness.
