Cold weather forecast Sunday, rise in temps Monday

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Relatively cold weather conditions are expected to prevail on Sunday in most parts of the Kingdom, while it will be fair in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba, with a chance for light showers in the northern regions, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily brief.

The weather will turn to be colder at night with low-altitude clouds and westerly moderate to brisk winds, blowing dust in the Badia areas, the Department added.

Daytime temperatures expected for today will reach 16 degrees Celsius in Amman, 11 in the northern and the southern governorates, dropping down to 8, 6 and 5 respectively. The weather will be warmer in the port city of Aqaba with highs reaching 24 degrees Celsius and lows standing at 15.

A slight rise in mercury levels is expected Monday, bringing spring-like and pleasant conditions in most areas of the country, except for the Jordan Valley and Aqaba where it is expected to be warm, with clouds at different altitudes and westerly moderate to brisk winds, the JMD forecast.

Dusty conditions are forecast on Tuesday nationwide, the JMD said, adding that temperatures will rise few degrees bringing relatively warm weather in most regions, while it will be relatively hot in the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea, with clouds at various altitudes and a chance for intermittent rain across the Kingdom, including Aqaba.

Winds will be southeasterly to southwesterly moderate to brisk, the JMD further said.
