Lower House to hold oversight session on Israeli gas deal

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The Lower House on Sunday decided to hold an oversight session next week, to discuss a draft law formulated to 'ban the import of Israeli gas to the Kingdom'.

During today's session, held to discuss the General Budget draft law and the Government Units Budgets draft law for the fiscal year 2020, House Speaker Atef Tarawneh called on the Parliament's Legal Committee to submit the proposed bill of preventing the import of Israeli gas with an urgency statute.

"MPs of the Legal Committee are requested to complete the proposed law on preventing the import of Israel gas, so that it will be presented on the Chamber's agenda next Sunday", Tarawneh said.

"It was agreed to hold an oversight session next Sunday to discuss the energy file, including the gas agreement, after the government requested some time to review all the signed energy deals," he added.
