PM lauds "historic", "deep-rooted" ties between Jordan, Kuwait

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Prime Minister Omar Razzaz, on Monday, lauded the historic and deep-rooted ties between Jordan and Kuwait in various fields, which have always been fostered by His Majesty King Abdullah II and His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Amir of Kuwait.

The Prime Minister gave his remarks during a meeting with a Kuwaiti industrial and commercial delegation headed by Director General of the Public Authority for Industry Abdul Karim Taqi, which is currently visiting the Kingdom.

The Prime Minister affirmed the government's commitment to enhance these ties in various fields, especially economic and trade sectors, to serve the interest of the two countries and peoples.

Razzaz said Kuwaiti investments rank first among Arab investments in Jordan, expressing the Kingdom's keenness to open doors for more Kuwaiti investments, to which the government is ready to provide the necessary facilities.

He noted that Jordan is planning to implement major projects in the fields of infrastructure, transport and water, which represents an opportunity for the Kuwaiti private sector to consider bidding for these vital projects.

The government is keen to follow up on investors' issues and challenges facing their investments and work to resolve them, Razzaz added, pointing out that Jordan has advanced by 29 points on the Ease of Doing Business Index due to the government's commitment to enhance the business environment, and its interest in investors' feedback and following up on them.

In the meeting, which was attended by Kuwaiti Ambassador to Jordan, Aziz Al-Daihani, President of the Jordan Chamber of Commerce Senator Nael Kabariti and President of the Jordan Chamber of Industry Fathi Jaghbir, Minister of Industry and Trade, Tariq Hammouri, underlined the importance of joint coordination with Kuwaiti counterparts on all economic and trade files and plans to enter global markets, according to a joint effort in specific sectors.

In turn, the Kuwaiti Ambassador to Jordan lauded the distinguished relations between Jordan and Kuwait and the continuous coordination between various sectors in both countries.

He called on activating agreements signed between the two countries to serve their common interests.

Al-Daihani said Kuwait is proud to rank first among Arab countries in terms of investments in the Kingdom, with an investment amounting to $18 billion.

"We seek to exceed this figure to better levels," he added, expressing appreciation for Jordan's care an attention it pays toward Kuwaiti investors and businessmen.

He added, "We are pushing for advanced economic ties and support to our brothers in Jordan in these difficult economic circumstances, and we are confident in the Jordanian human competencies capable of achieving the desired development."

For his part, Director General of the Public Authority for Industry Abdul Karim Taqi, said the visit of the Kuwaiti industrial and commercial delegation to Jordan aims to explore areas of joint cooperation and opportunities available for investment in many fields..

The President of the Jordan Chamber of Commerce said the recently-announced government package of incentives and measures provides an atmosphere of satisfaction and reassurance to the Jordanian private sector and Arab and foreign investors.

The President of the Jordan Chamber of Industry said Kuwait is one of the countries that do not put obstacles to Jordanian trade and exports.

He commended Kuwait's supportive stances to Jordanian exports, where Jordanian national exports to Iraq were passing through Kuwait during the closure of the Jordanian-Iraqi borders.
