AMMONNEWS - The Kingdom will be hit by a hot and dry air mass today, which will send mercury levels up and bring relatively hot conditions nationwide, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily update.

Winds will be southeasterly moderate turning into northwesterly, picking up at times and stirring dust in the desert, the JMD added.

The hot air mass will recede by Friday as temperatures will drop to bring back normal summer conditions in the hilly areas, while it will be relatively hot in the rest of the regions with northwesterly moderate to brisk winds.

On Saturday, mercury levels will continue to drop with similar weather conditions prevailing, while clouds will appear at low altitudes with northwesterly moderate winds.

Temperatures in Amman will hit a high of 38 in the daytime and a low of 22 in the night. The weather will be hotter in Aqaba, as temps are forecast to register a high of 40 Celsius degrees and a low of 28 in the night.
