Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - A slight rise in temperatures is expected on Monday, but it will remain cold and cloudy with rain until Tuesday in most parts of the Kingdom, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily brief.

The downpour is expected to be heavier at times and accompanied by thunder and hail in some areas, which might form floods in the valleys and lowlands, while winds will be southwesterly moderate to brisk, blowing dust in the desert areas, the JMD added.

Daytime temperatures expected for today in Amman and the northern areas will hover around 13 degrees Celsius and reaching 11 degrees Celsius in the southern cities, dropping down to 6, 7 and 2 respectively. The weather will be warmer in the port city of Aqaba with highs reaching 24 degrees Celsius and lows standing at 17 degrees at night.

A further rise in mercury levels is also forecast on Wednesday, creating relatively cold weather in most regions, while it will be warm in the Dead Sea and Aqaba with medium and high clouds.

Unstable weather conditions will start affecting the country Wednesday night, with rain accompanied by thunder and hail that might turn heavier early Thursday causing floods in the valleys and low lying areas.
