Rise in temps forecast till Tuesday

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - A slight rise in temperatures is expected on Sunday, but cold weather will prevail in the hilly areas and the plains, while it will be fair in the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea with high clouds and southwesterly moderate winds, according to the Jordan Metrological Department (JMD).

A further rise in mercury levels is forecast on Monday, but similar weather conditions will continue until Tuesday with clouds at various altitudes, while winds will be westerly to northwesterly moderate to brisk, the JMD said.

A slight chance for scattered showers is also forecast on Monday morning in various regions.

Daytime temperatures expected for today in Amman will reach 12 degrees Celsius and 14 in the northern and the southern cities, dropping down to 4, 5 and 2 degrees respectively. The weather will be warmer in the port city of Aqaba with highs reaching 22 degrees Celsius and lows standing at 13 at night, the JMD added.
