Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Police officers Thursday were able to take down a would-be bank robber in Amman's western district of Sweifieh, a Public Security Department (PSD) statement said.

"The Criminal Investigation Unit were tipped off about a man carrying a bag near a bank, to where cops were immediately dispatched to the area and apprehended the suspect", Spokesperson for the PSD Lt. Col. Omar Sartawi said.

He said two dummy guns, masks and gloves were found in the bag of the man, who confessed he was planning to rob the bank.

The PSD thanked all citizens for their cooperation and role in preserving security and reporting suspicious activities to the police.
