Home Jordan News King presents Supreme Commander’s Flag to army battalion 06-03-2018 02:15 PM Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF), on Tuesday presented, in a ceremony, the Supreme Commander’s Flag to Prince Mohammad 9th Mechanized Battalion from Al Hashemi 51st Mechanized Brigade that was established in 1949. The handing over of the banner is a of appreciation for the bravery and sacrifices offered by members of this unit and their role in defending the country and is part of continued efforts by King Abdullah to recognize the various units of the army. Upon arrival at Al Rayah parade ground at the Royal Court, the King received an official welcome that included a 21-gun salute by the artillery. The King was welcomed by the chairman of the joint chiefs of staff as well as senior army officers. The ceremony was attended by a number of Royal family members, the prime minister, the Senate president, the speaker of the Lower House of Parliament as well as top civic and military officials.
