Jordan's envoy to Ankara meets DEIK delegation

AMMONNEWS - The Jordanian Ambassador to Turkey, Ismail Rifai, received at the embassy on Thursday chairman and members of the Council of Turkish-Jordanian Relations in the Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK).

During the meeting, the envoy highlighted the Kingdom's investment opportunities and means to foster trade cooperation between the two countries.

As for Turkish investments, Rifai stressed the importance of luring Turkish industries to the Kingdom to take advantage of its lucrative investment privileges, especially in the development areas, offered under the umbrella of relevant agreements Jordan has already signed with a number of countries around the world.

In turn, the council's chairman, Omar Farouk Akbal, said he shares similar views with Rifai on the need to take practical and serious steps on the ground, in a bid aimed to reflect positively on economic cooperation and to cope with the advanced level of the bilateral political ties.

The Turkish-Jordanian Relations Council was established in 1994 under the umbrella of the Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK) in cooperation with the Jordanian Businessmen Association.

The council eyes to increase level of trade and industrial cooperation between the two countries, and has so far held several seminars and conferences to highlight investment opportunities in the Kingdom.

The Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK) was established in 1986 and aims to orchestrate foreign relations of Turkish companies.
