Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The Cabinet on Sunday endorsed a new regulation allowing the licensing of ride hailing applications. The decision was made during a cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister, Hani Mulki.

The regulation aims at improving the level of services provided to citizens and benefiting from smart applications in the transportation sector.

Under the new system, passenger transportation companies are prohibited from using smart applications but only after obtaining the necessary licenses and permits from the Land Transport Regulatory Commission (LTRC) and after submitting the registration certificate of the company to the Companies Control Department.

In the meeting, the government also endorsed laws and decisions related to a number of ministries and public institutions.

The government also decided to exempt all detached homes and apartments which does not exceed 150 square meters from the registration fees until 31/12/2018.

The decision is aimed at stimulating the real estate market and the sector as a whole in order to enable citizens to own houses.

The exemption shall be granted to Jordanian citizens only.
