King receives Saudi monarch upon arrival in Amman

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - His Majesty King Abdullah II received Saudi King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, who arrived in Amman on Monday on an official visit to the Kingdom.

The two leaders are expected to hold a summit meeting that will focus on boosting Jordanian-Saudi ties as well as current regional developments.

Upon arrival at Marka Military Airport, the Saudi Monarch was accorded an official welcome. The two leaders reviewed a guard of honor as a military band played the national anthem of both countries.

The Saudi King was also welcomed by Their Royal Highnesses Prince Faisal Bin Al Hussein, Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein, Prince Hamzah Bin Al Hussein, Prince Hashem Bin Al Hussein and Prince Rashed Bin Al Hassan.

Also receiving the Saudi monarch were the prime minister, the Senate president, the Lower Hose speaker the president of the Judicial Council, the Royal Court chief, the president of the Constitutional Court, the King's advisor for national security affairs and General Intelligence director, the chairman of the joint chiefs of staff, the director of the King's Office, the King's advisors, the King's special envoy to Saudi Arabia, the cabinet ministers, the directors of the civil defense, public security, and gendarmerie departments as well as other senior civil and military officials.

Thousands of Jordanians from across the Kingdom lined the streets to welcome the Saudi King.

The Saudi King is accompanied by a senior delegation comprising a number of royal family members, state ministers, the ministers of health, trade and investment, foreign affairs and transport, the head of the general intelligence and a number of Saudi businessmen.
