Jordan Academy of Arabic wins King Faisal International Prize

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The Jordan Academy of Arabic has won the King Faisal International Prize for Arabic Language and Literature (KFIP) 2017.

A statement by President of the academy Dr. Khalid Karaki said a message received from HRH Prince Khalid Al Faisal, Chairman of King Faisal International Prize, congratulating the academy on winning this year's award.

The KFIP committee’s unanimously decided to award this year's prize to the Jordan Academy of Arabic in recognition of its distinguished efforts in spreading science and technology through translation, Arabization of technical terms, and publication of specialized glossaries. The Academy was also recognized for the publication of specialized glossaries and its relentless efforts to make Arabic the language of instruction, an objective sought by various scientific institutions throughout the Arab World.

The King Faisal International Prize was launched by the King Faisal Foundation (KFF) in 1979, aiming to recognize the outstanding works of individuals and institutions in five major categories, including, Service to Islam, Islamic Studies, Arabic Language and Literature, Medicine, and Science.
