Ammon News - The number of visitors to Wadi Rum during the first four months of 2024 reached 61,254 visitors, most of them foreigners, a decrease of 71% compared to the same period in 2023, when the number of visitors reached 210,444 visitors, according to official data from the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.
The data shows that the number of foreign visitors reached 47,459 visitors, Arabs only 760 visitors, while Jordanian visitors reached 13,035 visitors.
The Dutch nationality ranked first with 11,490 visitors, while the New Zealand nationality ranked last with 1,329 visitors.
Regarding Arab visitors, the Moroccan nationality ranks first with a number of visitors amounting to 318 visitors, and the Emirati nationality ranks last with a number of 3 visitors.
Compared to the same period in 2023 and 2024, the number of visitors for the same period, according to Al-Mamlaka, reached 210,444, most of whom were foreigners, as their number reached 192,551 visitors, while Jordanians reached 13,395 visitors, and Arabs reached 4,498 visitors.
Central Bank of Jordan figures indicate that tourism income reached $1.6 billion during the first quarter of 2024, compared to $1.7 billion during the same quarter of 2023.
