Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - By Marwan Alshammari - The geographical location of Jordan in a longstanding tense Middle East has always been a source of complicated problems for the Jordanians, and the recent and continued uprising in the Jordan’s neighboring countries is not the first complicated situation that Jordan has dealt with throughout the history, although it is one of the major hurdles before the country’s efforts to move forward economically and politically.

King Abdullah II has proven to be correct in all his prophetic visions for the region and it’s problems ever since he took the office. The king has warned from establishing the ideological roots and foundational elements of extremism in his very early days in the power, where he warned from the continued denial of the Palestinians’ right of an independent state, the continued intervention of Iran in it’s neighboring countries, the poverty and inequality in the world, and the lack of collaborative efforts in fighting terrorism and it’s roots.

In so doing, the king has laid down the major causes and potential causes of problems, which has later occurred as he expected, he has brought to the surface the major elements that the international community could have worked together to eliminate as to avoid the later chaos that took place in the Middle East, especially in Syrian and Yemen.

Moreover, the king continued and unlimited efforts in bringing together the Israelis and Palestinians have been major reason in cooling down the Israeli-Palestinian problem. He has always been the key in all the major progresses that have been made in this respect, with the support of the U.S government and some support from other western allies.

What has been proven, and what I see as the most important characteristic of the king is that he represents the hope of millions of Muslims as he stands before the international community to enlighten them about the true peaceful Islamic teachings that calls for dignity, peace, and humanitarian values. He has also proven a true and sincere ally of the international community in the continued efforts against terrorism and it’s roots; both militarily and politically. The king’s efforts have succeeded in hindering the expansion of the terrorist beliefs and ideology in the region.

More importantly, the King’s international presence has shown the courteous personality and character that he has, in which he has always shown consistency, sincerity, and commitment towards fighting terrorism.

It is now the international community’s best chance and most appropriate time to the King and his people that the world stands by them. By supporting the king, the world can prove to the Jordanian people, as well as the rest of the region leaders that they are committed towards supporting those who share common values, beliefs, and visions.

In a very tense region like the Middle East, having an exemplary leader like the King is something that doesn’t often happen, therefore, it is in everybody’s best interest that the king is supported, his country is assisted, and his people are satisfied, especially with the increasing difficulties they have been encountering due to the conflict in the Middle East.
