Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Director General of the Audiovisual Media Commission, Dr. Amjad Al Qadi, has issued a gag order prohibiting the publication of reports about a Muslim scholar who was detained over a video in which he criticized Jordan's participation in the war against Daesh terror group.

The decision, which was taken in line with article 39 of the national Press and Publications Law, includes publication of any information or reports about scholar Amjad Qourshah, whether on websites, social media or any other media outlets.

The ban, ordered by the State Security Court's Prosecutor General, was meant to protect the confidentiality of the investigation and achieve the public interest.

It said the prohibition is valid until the end of the investigation into the case.
