FM meets US Presidential Envoy for Anti-Daesh Coalition

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Minister of Foreign Expatriates Affairs, Nasser Judeh, Wednesday, underlined the importance of the Jordan-USA partnership to counter terrorism.
The minister's comments came as he welcomed the US Special Presidential Envoy for the Global Coalition to Counter Daesh, Brett McGurk.
At the meeting, both sides emphasized the importance of continued coordination among concerned international parties to eliminate terrorism.
The two officials also spoke about the cowardly terrorist attack that targeted Jordanian Army forces on the Jordan-Syria border and claimed the lives of 6 soldiers and injured 14 others. Judeh also reviewed measures Jordan took after the attack, including declaring the northern and northeastern border areas closed military zones.
In turn, the US official condemned the attack and offered condolences to the government and people of Jordan and voiced his country's solidarity with the Kingdom.
He also appreciated Jordan's pivotal role, led by His Majesty King Abdullah, in countering terrorism, extremism and terror groups, and efforts to bring about peace and stability in the region and the world.
