The Syrian opposition request comes after U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry warned that the Russian air raids were killing women and children. Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The Syrian opposition said on Wednesday that it will participate in peace talks in Geneva scheduled on Feb. 25, Al Arabiya News Channel reported.

The continued bombardment of rebel-held towns was among the reasons given by the Syrian opposition for not cooperating with the U.N. peace talks early this month.
