Jordan will remain committed to the Palestinian issue: Senate President

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Senate President Abdel Raou'f Rawabdeh said Sunday that Jordan will remain committed to the Palestinian issue and continue supporting Palestine "as long as its peoples' hearts keep beating".

He was speaking during a cultural meeting organized by the Jaffa Social Development Association in Amman to mark Nakba Day, adding that Jordan will also become a victim if Palestine is lost, while highlighting His Majesty King Abdullah II's stance, which granted the Palestinian cause priority, even as it lost its importance among others.

"Palestine and Jerusalem recall the international conspiracy that has shaken the conscience of each and every Muslim who believes in Allah Almighty, stressing that its territory cannot be relinquished, and that our right in it is clear, while the occupiers' is invalid and void," he said.

He added that Palestine is not just a memory, but a part of our belonging to Arabism, along with our right to it, which we will not let slip away.

Raed Hamada, President of Jaffa association, said that the catastrophe, or Nakbah, which drove the Palestinians from their land 67 years ago, is a plight endured by the Arab and Islamic nations, noting that Palestine is one of the main landmarks of Islam and Arabism.
