Jordan, Libya discuss transport ties

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Jordan and Libya on Sunday discussed ways to activate the signed transport cooperation agreements to bolster cooperation in both sectors.

The talks held between minister of transport Lina Shabib and her Libyan counterpart Abdul Qader Mohamad Ahmad are aimed to benefit from the Jordanian transport expertise in Libya's reconstruction enterprise.

The two sides agreed to form joint technical committees that will define the areas for cooperation and come up with feasible recommendations to achieve that goal.

The ministers noted the existing close ties in multiple areas of transportation, adding that they looked forward to elevating the level of cooperation in air, maritime and land transport and to benefit from Jordan's expertise in these fields.

The Libyan minister said his country looked forward to benefitting from Jordan's transport education expertise to the maximum extent, noting that 400 Libyan students are enrolled in Jordanian aviation academies. He said the North African country needed a lot of expertise and skills in various fields, particularly in transport related education.
