Ammon News - Alarabiya - A Lebanese boy decided to donate his birthday money to a charity organization that buys and distributes shoes to Syrian refugee children living in Lebanon.

Rakan, a young boy who lives in Bahrain, was strongly affected by images of barefooted Syrian children standing in the snow in Syrian refugee camps.

Lebanese fashion designer Hala Kablawi launched the campaign after seeing Syrian refugees undergo a bitterly cold winter after storm Alexa hit the region.

She began the campaign as a personal initiative, however, the support she has gained has helped her to continue the project.

Kablawi recently visited this school which accepted Syrian children rejected by other schools in Lebanon.

Mohammad, who has never been to school, joined classes at the school organized by the charitable “Ikraa” association and hopes to enroll in a government school next year.

Since Syria's civil war began, many individual initiatives have recently been supporting displaced Syrians.
