King condemns Iran mosque blasts

Ammon News - AMMAN - His Majesty King Abdullah II sent a cable to Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, expressing in his name and on behalf of the people and government of Jordan, his heart-felt condolences over the victims of two suicide bomb blasts at a mosque in the southeastern city of Zahedan.

Twenty-eight people were killed, including worshippers, and 300 injured in Thursday's attacks at the Shiite mosque, which occurred as people celebrated a holy occasion.

In his cable, King Abdullah expressed his deep sorrow over the tragedy and strong condemnation of the two terrorist acts which, he said, contravened noble Islamic values.

He said Jordan rejects all forms and manifestations of terrorism which threatened world peace and stability.

The King wished the injured a speedy recovery.
