AMMONNEWS - Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Tariq Hammouri will Tuesday leave for Turkey at the head of a delegation from the ministry to sign a framework agreement for economic cooperation between the two countries.

Yanal Barmawi, the ministry spokesman, said that the agreement will frame the legal relationship in the commercial fields after the cancellation of the partnership agreement to establish a free trade zone between the two countries by the Jordanian government after the agreement failed to achieve the intended objectives.

Baramawi added in a press statement on Monday that the framework agreement does not include any form of trade preferential treatment or customs exemptions, but will see the formation of a joint committee from both sides to start negotiations later on the form of a future agreement between the two countries, stressing that Jordan is keen to develop economic cooperation with Turkey in a manner that achieves common interests of both sides.
