Cold conditions to persist over weekend

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - A slight in temperatures is forecast on Thursday, but relatively cold conditions will continue to prevail in the hilly areas, the Badia regions and eastern plains, while it will be relatively warm in the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea.

According to Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD), winds will be northwesterly moderate with frost formation after midnight in the highlands and parts of the desert areas.

Daytime temperatures expected in the capital and the northern parts will reach 15 degrees Celsius dropping to 3 degrees at night, in the southern regions they will range between a high of 14 degrees and a low of 1 . Mercury levels in the Gulf of Aqaba will register a high of 23 degrees sliding to 10 at night.

Similar weather conditions are expected to persist over the weekend, with clouds at various altitudes and a weak chance of drizzle in the northern parts of the country. Frost formation is also forecast after midnight in the highlands and parts of the Badia regions, the JMD added.
