IN SEARCH OF JUSTICE

[3/1/2013 12:00:00 AM]

By Jafar M Ramini

In an unprincipled, ungodly world, a world that is governed by Mammon, when even your brothers deny you, how could you ever begin to hope for justice?

My fellow humans, this very perplexing paradox is so relevant to the Palestinians in a way that makes it almost blasphemous to contemplate. How could one ever hope for justice when the gatekeeper and the people who are supposedly on your side are, in fact, on the side of your enemy?

The people I am alluding to here are the west and in particular the United States of America and our so-called Arab/Moslem brothers. This message is directed at the USA, not the administration, but the God-fearing, ordinary American people.

Mr. Obama is Israel bound. His citizens (American born and bred) are being arrested, interrogated, abused, humiliated and incarcerated at Israel's entry points and deported.

Their crime is none other than having Palestinian ancestry. And therein lies the core of the problem. To the Zionist occupiers of our land we don't exist.

The latest victim of this inhumane policy is an American English teacher by the name of Nour Joudah. This is but a small fragment of what she, an American citizen had to say:

"NJ: I think it is very clear that they want as few people with Palestinian origin in what they consider Israel and the occupied territories because they don’t even want the [Palestinians] that are there. So why in God’s name would they want us returning in any form or fashion, even if it’s for a limited period or for a visit? … They consider no one’s citizenship valuable if you have an Arab name, end of story; your citizenship is completely irrelevant to them and they are [indifferent] to any sort of law or alliances with any other countries. They do what they want arbitrarily and the US embassy and State Department know it".

They certainly do. We Palestinians are not given any due respect and deference even when we have the required papers and documentation to prove that we are human beings. Because to the Zionists, to the western powers, to many of our so-called Arab and Moslem brothers we are not.

Consider this please:

AIPAC (The American Israel Public Affairs Committee) is launching its annual conference at its headquarters in Washington DC this coming Sunday 3rd March.

Why is this big news? Because whatever this Zionist propaganda machine does affects us all. It is no secret that this inhumane organization wields a big stick in American domestic and foreign policies. They are twisting arms, intimidating and cajoling American politicians and lawmakers to serve, not the American people, but a foreign power. ISRAEL.

AIPAC has achieved the utmost influence ever exercised by a foreign agent on a sovereign state for the last sixty years. They made the American Congress subservient and compliant to the needs of Israel not its own citizens, the people of the USA.
As a result, the so-called 'Special Relationship' was forged to be specially working for the interests of the Zionist apartheid state of Israel, not the American people. Do you think the Zionist occupiers of Palestine are satisfied with all they have achieved so far? Far from it.

In this coming conference, it's been reported that AIPAC will lobby (read ‘pressure’) the Congress of the USA to upgrade 'The Special Relationship with Israel' to a 'MAJOR STRATEGIC ALLY'. A status that has never been enjoyed before by any other nation friendly to the USA. Not even any of the most compliant, sniveling and subservient Arab regimes.

Are you worried, America? Are you aware, Americans? Well, you should be. It's the integrity, reputation and independence of your country that is being compromised.

While the President of the USA is paying homage to his masters in Tel Aviv and our so-called leaders in Ramallah wait in anticipation for him to drop in, can I remind Mr. Obama of those infamous words spoken by that war criminal, ex-Prime Minister of Israel, Ariel Sharon:

"WE, THE JEWISH PEOPLE, CONTROL AMERICA. AND THE AMERICANS KNOW IT." October 3 2001. (IAP news)

Now, with hands on hearts, people of the world, especially Americans, please tell me that my search for justice is not in vain.

I shared the story of Nour Joudah 2 days ago and was reminded of the story of cartoonist Mohammed Sabaane who was arrested coming back from Amman. Just two stories in two weeks time. And no one seems to give a damn. Imagine my mother already saying to me 40 years ago: "this Zionist propaganda machine does affects us all". I personally don't know anymore if the search for justice isn't in vain But we can't give up. Can we?

Americans have no choice but to stand with and support the Palestinians. The American government is failing to protect their own people and are directing all the country's resources to the Israel state. To free the world, Palestine must be freed. Zionism must be brought to an end.

The extraordinary thing about the quote by Mr. Ariel Sharon is that one doesn't need to dig hard in dusty files to find it. So arrogant and sure of their ground are the Israelis that even evidence like this of their hold on the world's mightiest superpower is in the public domain. You can google it. Yet, trying to explain to most American citizens that their country and its reputation is being hi-jacked by a foreign power, Israel one is met with a blank stare. They are not aware because their media keeps them firmly blindfolded. Those who do make up their own minds do so through Ammon News, Youtube and Google. I have great respect for them. Of course their numbers are small when compared with the huge population of the USA. But their ranks are swelling. More and more Americans, shocked to the core about what they read, see and hear of the brutal ethnic cleansing and inhuman treatment by the Israelis towards the Palestinians are asking questions and demanding answers. That arrogance, so clearly illustrated by Ariel Sharon, could turn out to be the secret weapon of the Palestinian resistance.

AIPAC has contolled the US congress since the early 1980's. The average American did not even know they exisited and many still do not know even today. We need to highlight this more often in our columns and newspapers such that the word gets out. Thank you Mr. Ramini

More than twenty years ago,a friend of mine in TV journalism, told me that for every one letter his progamme received expressing a view, one hundred felt the same way.but didn`t "put their heads over the parapet.." I remember this when I feel unbearably outraged at the apparent acceptance of Israels brutal ethnic cleansing of Palestinian identity. The picture I shared recently of a US Jewish man, holding a placard, which read--"Has anyone noticed that Israel is insane ? "--Supported my conviction that Israel has reached that level of extreme.supremist trumpeting propaganda. This may seem like triumphalism.but I believe it to be desperation. Israelis know that they are over the abyss. They know that their behavior is indefensible. They must guess that in this new technological age, nothing they do goes unrecorded, nor missed by apparently sleeping millions, who have yet to "put their heads over the parapet"... From my own tiny experience I know that more and more people are coming to care passionately about the people of Palestine. They need to be energised into the showing their disgust.and proving their good conscience. David Ward.MP braved the storm,by speaking out.And former Deputy Prime minister;John Prescott, surprised me on Thursday last,on BBC.TVs.This Week,by stating that his "wrong" support for the Iraq invasion, had been prompted by the hope that it would help Palestine. Warped logic perhaps, but indicative of a hidden swell of unease at all levels, against what Israel believes it `deserves` impunity for...

The problem is not with "the Jewish people" the problem is with the ideology of Zionism which presupposes a particular people are superior. Among the most strident supporters of Zionism are US Christians who are clueless to the true facts on the ground in the so called holy land as much as they are deluded about what it means to be a Christian: which requires on be NONVIOLENT, nonjudgmental and LOVE all people as equals!

The only way out of this constant violation of dignity towards the Palestinians at the hands of Western Regimes, "israel" and the Arabs is for the Palestinians to stop expecting help from the world, they should not seek recognition from the UN, that same body of cowards which divided Palestine in the first place back in 1947. A civil strife is imperative. The PA must be dissolved immediately. Let 'israel' bear the brunt of the occupation. Last but not least, the Palestinian should form an anti-defamation league and sue the hell out of Britain for its historical crime against the Palestinian, France for providing "israel" with the nuclear Know-how, and they also should NOT SEEK PEACE with Nazi "israel".

I am going to copy and paste the link to this excellent piece on the White House Facebook page and the Israel in the USA page. I learned a while back that it is okay to preach to the choir but it does not really inform those who need to wake up!Americans are so blind and frankly, ignorant. It is time to give out some lessons.

This is the least we can say. Thank you Jafar, well said as usual.

The source of suffering is not simply godlessness, israel, judaism or zionism, but the pattern of institutionalized predation developed over millenia by an aggressive, technological system of resource (over)exploitation by ignorant, ruthless, narcissistic competitors. Blaming one or another generation, nation, population, etc. does not facilitate the profound, universal, "holistic"/wholesome conscientiousness required of everyone. In the immediate crisis, yes, the "western", capitalist-corporate, supremacist elite is destroying the planet, and haven't the insight, wisdom, compassion to self-correct. But any cabal of madmen/predators could take their place. We need a "united nations" grounded in ecological and humanitarian wisdom to guide, inspire and build healthy local models of community development and eco-economic cooperation as alternatives to globalized, militant, economic terrorism . Can kindness overcome brutality? Can wisdom overwhelm stupidity? Can altruism replace selfishness and cruelty world-wide? Can "gentle"men restrain and rehabilitate abusers? The human family must, if it would de-institutionalize predation and institutionalize planetary, public health and wellbeing.

  • 11 Many Questions 3/4/2013 5:48:59 AM

Where is the Palestinians AIPAC in the US? There are millions of Arabs and Palestinians in the US. Many of them are very well and capable of forming groups similar to AIPAC to influence the decision making process in the US. Could the difference be that Arabs and Palestinians don’t believe in their own causes while Jews do? It takes money to buy influence, where are all the Arab and Palestinians billionaires and millionaires in the US? From my experience, Arabs and Palestinians in particular actually go out of their way to not be identified with the Middle East causes, particularly the Palestinian issue, I wonder why.

Thank you very much one and all for your valued contributions. I thought that I would stay out of this debate and leave it in your capable hands to come up with your own questions, and possibly your own answers. And then comes number 11. I am at a loss to understand whom you are blaming for the plight of the Palestinian people, if not to say the whole Arab nation. Yes, there is a lack of commitment in some Palestinian/Arabic/Muslim quarters, but does that mean that you tar everybody with the same brush? Are you aware of the insurmountable obstacles that we encounter every time we raise our heads above the parapet? Aren't you blaming the victim for being victimised? As I said, I am at a loss as to how to engage you. Please elaborate.

  • 13 Abdulillah 3/5/2013 4:00:05 AM

For many questions, although you are not wrong in stating where are the Palestinians,I can tell you the rest of your argument fails philosphically, in that one cannot buy justuce when another buys injustice. Justice should be a guaranteed right, not something that is bought or sold. You would not take a poor mans land because he could not fight you in court or in the court of opinion. You know it is morally wrong to do so. However I would like to point out that there are many Palestinians in the US who seem to be working to highlight this injustice. Look up Jadaliya web site you will be surprised at the quality of reporting.

I am simply stating the obvious. AIPAC is doing what it is designed to do. The Arabs including the Palestinians possess a lot of resources to mount an effective counterbalance to the Zionists influence machine. An example is the staunch Zionist Sheldon Adelson who is the chairman and chief executive officer of the Las Vegas Sands Corporation. He spent more than 250 million of his own money trying to elect Romney as US president because he thinks Romney will better serve Israeli interest. He was very public about it and unapologetic. He even accompanied Mr. Romney in a visit to Israel. Money buys a lot of influence. Arabs have plenty of it...put it to use. Imagine if a group of Arabs including Palestinians spent 250 million dollars to explain to the American public your side of the story. If you can’t beat them…imitate them.

Thank you (14) for your courtesy. There is nothing I like more than civilized, informed debate. Yes I am familiar with Mr Sheldon Adelson and many Zionist philanthropists like him. I am also painfully aware of how slow our rich brothers are when it comes to putting their hands in their very deep pockets to help us survive. Look at the dire state of most our people. Look at the situation in Palestine and Jordan. Then please look at my articles (A PAIR OF SHOES FOR EVERY ARAB http://en.ammonnews.net/article.aspx?articleNO=20268) and (STAND UP AND BE COUNTED http://en.ammonnews.net/article.aspx?articleNO=12805). You might find some answers and you even might help me and brother Abdulillah in our humble efforts to try and make some headway. Finally, I am a member of many Palestinian/Arab/International forums devoted to our just cause. Check Al-Awdah please. Thank you.
