‘Khawater al-Zalam’ crowned winners of Arabs Got Talent – season II

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The group Khawater al-Zalam was crowned winners of MBC’s Arabs Got Talent on Friday, marking the end of its second season. The Winners were awarded a prize of 500,000 Saudi riyals ($133,000).
The group of thirteen young men from Saudi Arabia entertained the audience with their ultraviolet spectacle, and garnered fans and votes as the season progressed. Set against a pitch-black stage, the performers would perform stunts and dance sequences with ultraviolet props and costumes.
One of the finalists was 14-year-old Algerian singer Dahlia Chih, who captivated the audience with her vocal talent, as she performed popular soul, blues, and jazz hits in English, such as Aretha Franklin’s RESPECT.
Another finalist was female singer, Shamma Hamdan from the UAE, who covered various Gulf artists’ songs as she strummed her acoustic guitar.
With its distinguished panel of judges that included famed journalist Ali Jaber, singer Najwa Karam and prominent actor Nasser al-Kassabi, the second season of Arabs Got Talent, which kicked off in April 2012, gathered talents in different fields from all over the Arab world.
The proved very successful and highly popular in the region. Millions of viewers held their breath as the competition got heated on MBC4, a channel part of MBC group, while the participants showed their talents on air.
