King wants early elections

AMMONNEWS -King Abdullah on Wednesday stressed that all Jordanians are looking forward to see the parliamentary elections held this year in complete fairness, transparency and neutrality.

His Majesty highlighted separation between powers as a “constitutional pillar that we must adhere to” and urged acceleration of work to make the election possible.

He discussed with the lawmakers a number of current issues including Jordan's critical political and economic situation, and the influence of Syrian crisis on the kingdom.

Receiving members of the Lower House of Parliament, the Monarch voiced his support in helping to conduct the parliamentary elections before the end of this year.

The King also stressed that the parliament should push political reform forwards, urging lawmakers to carry out their duties.
