Tarawneh Gov't Sworn-in, 1st Women's Affairs Minister

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - A Royal Decree was issued on Wednesday approving the formation of a new government headed by Prime Minister Fayez Tarawneh, to succeed the government of ex-PM Awn Khasawneh, which resigned last Thursday.

The Prime Minister and cabinet were sworn-in before King Abdullah II at Raghadan Palace in the Royal Hashemite Court on Wednesday evening.

PM Tarawneh said following the swearing-in ceremony that his government will begin practicing its constitutional duties and focus on the ten themes and directives focused on in King Abdullah's designation letter.

The Ministry of Youth was dismantled in the new government, in addition to the position of Minister of State for Legal Affairs, and a Ministry for Women's Affairs was instated headed by Nadiya Al Aloul.

The 30-member cabinet team was appointed as follows:

1) Fayez Tarawneh: Prime Minister and Minister of Defense
2) Ghaleb Al Zoubi: Minister of Interior
3) Khalifa Khaled Bani Amer: Minister of Justice
4) Abdul Salam Abbadi: Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs
5) Shabib Ammari: Minister of Industry and Trade
6) Nasser Judeh: Minister of Foreign Affairs
7) Wajih Oweis: Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research
8) Atef Al Tal: Minister of Information and Communications Technology
9) Hashim Masaeed: Minister of Transport
10) Yousef Kassib Al Jazi: Minister of State
11) Jafaar Hassan: Minister of Planning and International Cooperation
12) Wajih Azayzeh: Minister of Social Development
13) Yahia Kasabi: Minister of Public Works and Housing
14) Abdul Latif Wreikat: Minister of Health
15) Suleiman Al Hafeth: Minister of Finance
16) Atef Odeibat: Minister of Labour
17) Salah Jarrar: Minister of Culture
18)Yassin Al Khayyat: Minister of Environment
19) Khleif Al Khawaldeh: Minister of Public Sector Development
20) Nayef Hmeidi Al Fayez: Minister of Tourism and Antiquities
21) Mohammad Najjar: Minister of Water and Irrigation
22) Fayez Saudi: Minister of Education
23) Sharari Kassab Shakhanbah: Minister of Parliamentary Affairs
24) Ahmad Aal Khattab: Minister of Agriculture
25) Nofan Ajarmah: Minister of Political Development
26)Maher Abul Samin: Minister of Municipal Affairs
27) Alaa Batayneh: Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources
28) Samih Maaytah: State Minister for Media Affairs and Communications
29) Kamil Al Saeed: State Minister for Prime Ministry Affairs and Legislation
30) Nadiya Mohammad Hashim Al Aloul: Minister of Women's Affairs

A Royal Decree was also issued last Thursday accepting the resignation of former Prime Minister Awn Khasawneh, who submitted his resignation while on an official trip abroad in Turkey.

Meanwhile, Minister of Water and Irrigation, Muhammad Najjar, told Ammon News that he renounced his American citizenship over a month ago, in statements he made following speculations of why he was re-appointed as Minister in Tarawneh's government after he resigned from former PM Bakhit's government after the Constitutional amendments took affect, prohibiting holding office to any person holding any other citizenships other than the Jordanian.
