Government approves Constitutional Court draft law

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - In a historic session, the Cabinet on Tuesday approved the Constitutional Court draft law for the year 2012.

The government's decision to pass the bill came in accordance with the provisions of paragraph 1 of Article 58 of the Constitution, which entails the establishment of a Constitutional Court that shall control the constitutionality of laws and regulations and the interpretation the Constitution's provisions.

The approval of the draft law comes in implementation the government's commitment to the Lower House to submit a draft law for the Constitutional Court during the month of February within the government's plans for political reform.
