Protesters continue to demand separate municipalities

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS – A number of residences in Southern Shuneh blocked the Dead Sea–Sourthern Shuneh highway in protest of merging Municipalities.

They demanded the creation of their own municipality encompassing Sourthern Shuneh, New Shuneh, and Karama districts.

The residents protested the municipalities merger decision which lumped 8 municipalities in one to encompass a district with over 75,000 residents.

In separate incident dozens of citizens in Marj Al Hamam south of Amman, staged a protest and blocked the King Hussein Bridge highway demanding the separation of their municipality of Great Municipality of Amman (GMA).
