AMMONNEWS – A number of reform movements throughout the Kingdom announced holding major demonstrations across the country to address their demands for tangible reforms, under a united banner of "Our Unity is Our Way to Reform."

18 pro-reform popular and youth movements from Amman and kingdom governorates will hold the protests on Friday, October 14th, following Friday midday prayers, a joint statement issued by the movements said.

The organizers denounced what they described as “state-sponsored thuggery” that is perpetrated against pro-reforms protestors by groups declaring themselves as "loyalists."

They also blasted "hired journalists" whom they consider as columnists and journalists propagating state propaganda amidst "the regime's attempts to strike our legitimate movement towards change, through its small projects that it falsely presents as democratic, but in its essence is nothing but an attempt to abort our free movement."

"This political process will not be able to overtake our people and pass us if we are united in our demands and stance," the statement added.

The statement stressed that "such thuggish attempts will not detract the people from demanding genuine political reforms."

The statement called on all popular and youth movements to unite their demands and hold steadfast on their mobilization and activism.

The participating movements include the Coalition of Youth and Popular movements in Amman, Jerash, Karak, Dhiban, Northern Jordan popular movement, Aqaba, Ma'an, Madaba, Salt, Zarqa, Ramtha, Shobak, and Dhiban's dignity movement, in addition to the Youth and Popular Coalition for Reform and the Jordanian Youth movement.
